How to Activate Picture in Picture YouTube on iPhone

In today’s fast-paced world, multitasking has become an essential skill. Whether you’re watching a YouTube video and want to continue browsing the web or need to step away from your iPhone to answer a call, the Picture in Picture (PiP) feature can be a lifesaver. If you’re an iPhone user and haven’t yet activated this useful feature on YouTube, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Step 1: Update Your iPhone

Before you can activate Picture in Picture on YouTube, ensure that your iPhone is running the latest iOS version. This feature is available on iOS 14 and later. To check for updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

Step 2: Open YouTube

Once your iPhone is updated, open the YouTube app. If you haven’t installed it yet, download it from the App Store.

Step 3: Start Playing a Video

Step 5: Resize and Move the PiP Window

You can resize the Picture in Picture window by dragging its edges. To move the window, simply tap and hold the window and drag it to your desired location on the screen.

Step 6: Exit Picture in Picture Mode

To exit Picture in Picture mode, simply tap the PiP window and drag it back to the bottom-right corner of the screen. The video will stop playing, and you can close the app or switch to another app.

– You can also activate Picture in Picture by double-tapping the Home button and swiping up to access the App Switcher. Then, find the YouTube PiP window and drag it to the Home screen.
– If you’re watching a YouTube video in the Safari browser, you can activate Picture in Picture by tapping the PiP icon in the bottom-right corner of the video player.
