How to Get Nintendo Switch Lite into RCM Mode
Are you a Nintendo Switch Lite owner looking to enter the Recovery Console Mode (RCM) to perform firmware updates, install custom firmware, or troubleshoot your console? Entering RCM mode on the Nintendo Switch Lite is a bit different from the original Switch due to its design and lack of physical buttons. In this article, we will guide you through the process of getting your Nintendo Switch Lite into RCM mode.
1. Prepare the Necessary Tools
Before you begin, make sure you have the following tools ready:
– A microSD card with at least 2GB of storage space
– A compatible USB cable (the same one you use to charge your Switch Lite)
– A computer with a web browser
2. Format the MicroSD Card
Insert the microSD card into your computer and format it to FAT32 file system. This will ensure compatibility with the Nintendo Switch Lite.
3. Download the RCM Bootloader
Navigate to the official Nintendo Switch Hacks website (https://www.nintendo-switch-hacks.com/) and download the RCM bootloader for the Nintendo Switch Lite. Save the downloaded file to your computer.
4. Transfer the RCM Bootloader to the MicroSD Card
Copy the downloaded RCM bootloader file to the root directory of the formatted microSD card. Make sure the file name matches the one mentioned in the RCM bootloader’s instructions.
5. Power Off Your Nintendo Switch Lite
Make sure your Nintendo Switch Lite is turned off. Remove the microSD card from the console and insert it into your computer.
6. Connect the Nintendo Switch Lite to Your Computer
Using the USB cable, connect the Nintendo Switch Lite to your computer. Ensure that the console is in the charging position with the screen facing down.
7. Enter RCM Mode
With the console connected to your computer, press and hold the Volume Down button on the left Joy-Con controller. While holding the button, press the Power button on the console. Keep holding both buttons until you see the Nintendo Switch logo appear on your computer screen.
8. Install RCM Firmware
Now that your Nintendo Switch Lite is in RCM mode, you can install the RCM firmware on your console. Follow the instructions provided by the RCM bootloader to complete the installation process.
9. Disconnect and Reboot
Once the RCM firmware is installed, safely disconnect the Nintendo Switch Lite from your computer. Remove the microSD card and insert it back into the console. Power on your Switch Lite, and you should now be in RCM mode.
