How to Unpair Apple Watch with iPhone

Are you looking to unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone? Whether you’re selling your Apple Watch, giving it to someone else, or simply want to start fresh, unpairing your devices is a straightforward process. In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to safely and effectively unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Apple Watch App on Your iPhone

First, ensure that your iPhone is connected to the internet and that your Apple Watch is on and within range. Then, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. This app is essential for managing your Apple Watch and contains all the settings you need to unpair the devices.

Step 2: Go to the My Watch Tab

Once the Apple Watch app is open, tap on the “My Watch” tab at the bottom of the screen. This tab contains all the settings and information related to your Apple Watch.

Step 3: Select the Apple Watch You Want to Unpair

In the “My Watch” tab, you’ll see a list of all paired Apple Watches. Tap on the name of the Apple Watch you want to unpair from your iPhone.

Step 4: Scroll to the Bottom and Tap “Unpair Apple Watch”

Scroll down the screen until you find the “Unpair Apple Watch” option. Tap on it to begin the unpairing process.

Step 5: Confirm the Unpairing Process

A confirmation message will appear, asking you to confirm that you want to unpair your Apple Watch. Tap “Unpair” to proceed.

Step 6: Enter Your Apple ID Password

To ensure that only the owner of the Apple Watch can unpair it, you’ll be prompted to enter your Apple ID password. Enter your password and tap “Unpair” again.

Step 7: Wait for the Unpairing Process to Complete

Your iPhone will send a request to your Apple Watch to disconnect the devices. Once the unpairing process is complete, you’ll see a confirmation message on your iPhone.

Step 8: Remove the Apple Watch from Your iPhone’s Bluetooth Settings

To ensure that your iPhone no longer recognizes your Apple Watch, go to your iPhone’s Settings app, tap “Bluetooth,” and then swipe left on the Apple Watch’s listing and tap “Forget This Device.”

Now your Apple Watch is successfully unpaired from your iPhone. You can now sell, give away, or start fresh with your Apple Watch. If you decide to pair your Apple Watch with a new iPhone in the future, simply follow the pairing process outlined in the Apple Watch User Guide.
